Passenger and Bus

Program Length:

  • 30-Hour Program – 1-week course, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (for students who already hold a CDL Class B or higher).(Just Week 2)

  • 110-Hour Program – 3-week course, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (for students without a CDL).

Week 1 Class: 40 Hours

Classwork: Getting ready for a permit test. The students will go through the Washington State Commercial Driver Guide and Entry-Level driver training For Class-A and Class-B. Then you will have to schedule a date when you can come and take the written test at the DOL (Department Of Licensing).

Week 2 Class and Yard: 40 Hours

The students will go through 30 total hours of training, including at least:

  • 20 hours of classroom instruction, focusing on advanced driving concepts, safety regulations, and real-world passenger and bus operations. Then you will have to schedule a date when you can come and take the written test at the DOL (Department Of Licensing) for school bus and passenger. 

  • 10 hours of proficiency development, where students will apply classroom knowledge through hands-on activities and skills practice to prepare for road and endorsement tests.

Week 3 Yard: 40 Hours

Students will come to the front desk to receive a Pre-Trip and Vest. Students will be required to sign In and Out of the office. After the students sign in, they may go to the yard, start their training with the instructor, and start learning the Pre-Trip.The Student with their permits will be able to start their training inside the school truck. Students will start backing and Street Driving this week, and (8 hours of backing. Students will be doing their practice tests with an instructor. After a student Accumulates 110 hours of training. They may come to the front desk and ask the office to schedule a driving test with the DOL (Department Of Licensing).For students who pass the state test, the school will update their results on the online licensing portal and will be able to receive a Class-B CDL, School bus and Passenger Endorsements.

Enrollment requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have a Washington license 

Must be proficient in English

Must pass a DOT physical exam
